Poetry Rocks

April is poetry month!

We're celebrating with two fun displays and lots of reading and writing poetry in elementary classrooms. The library's poetry collection is extensive: anthologies, early readers, poems by topic and theme. We have it all. See a selection of our collection here.

Poetry is Blooming! 

In this display we show how poetry can be chosen by topic. Grade 3s practice their skills by selecting a strip and finding the poetry book on the shelf.

Poetry Rocks!

The board behind our circulation desk highlights poetry books designed to appeal to older students. Grade fives are working on different quick-write poems each session in the library during April.
