Our "Plant a Kiss" week was lots of fun. Inspired by the picture book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Peter Reynolds, we challenged each class to come up with a kind act to do for another group. Our students and teachers had wonderful ideas and our whole school had a kind of "glow" about it all week as we surprised each other with small kindnesses.
Here's a video that partly captures the magic.
When the week ended, we all felt ready to greet our visiting author!
She read stories and chatted with our early childhood classes. For grades 1-5, she did presentations about words and word play and about some great ideas. Students loved learning about anagrams, palindromes, and seeing Amy's creativity come through in her talk and the ideas she shared.
At the end of her time with us, we gathered as a faculty and enjoyed a special "Plant a Kiss" cake.
ohhhhhhhh, what a loss...such a big loss. x
