You may wonder, "What does Mrs. Ducharme DO all day?" As a librarian, I have many different jobs at our school: I teach fixed and flexible classes, monitor students at recess times, make plans for improving our library space, take out old books and buy new ones, support teachers in their lesson planning, help parents find books for their children, organize special literacy-based events, and read, read, read!
Here's a mind map of my goals from last school year to give you an idea of the kinds of projects I work on during the year. I'll post my 2011-2012 goals in June.

I am a k-4 Resource Center Director in Winnetka, IL and I have to tell you that I find your blog incredilby inspiring. I appreciate your writing style and the way in which you clearly describe not just the what you've done with your students, but the why. I personally believe that your blog is one of the best I've read on this subject. I particularly appreciated this mind map. It helped me articulate what I do all day. I will be borrowing your idea to help me present my work to my principal.

Wow, that is easily the most meaningful comment I have ever received here. Thank you! I am glad you find this helpful. Best wishes for a productive end-of-year! Cheers, Sarah
DeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteHow did you stick your mind map into your post? I am trying to do the same on a blogger site and am not sure how to do so.
Any help would really be appreciated!
Thanks,
Todd
Todd, in Mindmodo there's an option to embed under "share" and you copy/paste that code in your post using the "html" view.
ReplyDeleteHope that works!
